1. Introduction

RubikPilot ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy governs the LiveRubik browser extension (available on Google Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons). LiveRubik provides real-time audio dubbing and live subtitles for browser tabs and local video files.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We believe in strict client-side isolation. LiveRubik is designed with zero-knowledge architecture:

No Audio Recording Storage: Captured tab audio streams are processed exclusively in real-time in your computer's RAM and are never recorded, saved, or uploaded to RubikPilot servers.
No Personal Identification: We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, or IP logs.
No Data Selling or Advertising Profiling: We do not sell or monetize any user data.

3. How Your API Key is Handled (BYOK Model)

In the Test Version (BYOK - Bring Your Own Key), your Google Gemini API Key is stored securely within your browser’s local sandbox (chrome.storage.local). The key communicates directly over encrypted WebSockets (WSS) with Google Generative AI endpoints. It is never transmitted to or readable by RubikPilot.

4. Browser Permissions Required

• tabCapture: Captures audio output from the active tab currently being dubbed.

• offscreen: Creates an isolated background audio processing environment compliant with Chrome Manifest V3.

• storage: Stores user preferences (target language, speed, theme, volume) locally.

• downloads: Used strictly when the user explicitly clicks the "Save .TXT / .SRT" button to export subtitle files.

5. Third-Party Services

When you enable dubbing, speech data is sent in real-time to Google Gemini AI for speech translation under Google's Cloud API Privacy Terms.
